Texas Instruments DSP Tools

Texas Instruments has made great improvements in their latest DSP tools package, Code Composer Studio.  Specifically in the following areas:

	DSP/BIOS
	Chip Support Library
	Debugging Tools

The DSP/BIOS is a scalable real-time kernel, designed specifically for TI DSP platforms. It employs a multithreading kernel and real-time analysis tools.  During project development New World has utilized many of the DSP/BIOS features including: semaphores, queues, multitasking, and the interrupt dispatcher.

The Chip Support Library (CSL) is a set of peripheral configuration libraries used to streamline the process of using the on chip peripherals.

Finally, the Code Composer Studio debugging tools New World has used include, real time data exchange (RTDX) which  transfers data between the host computer and the DSP, a code profiler which counts how many clock cycles are being used by each portion of code, and advanced event triggering which enables breakpoints to be set based on a complex set of conditions.
