HIGH SPECTRAL RESOLUTION, DUAL FIELD, SPECTRO-RADIOMETER
Windows spectral analyzer control software. The instrument measures heat energy optically for wavelengths from 1.4 to 14.2 µmeters. The system can generate up to 30 spectra per second. The software uses commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) data acquisition and control PC cards to sample the detector output at 100kHz. The data is processed and adjusted for instrument specific calibration parameters as well as atmospheric absorption properties. Feature rich user options include an extensive graphical interface, multiple spectral filter speeds, gain/bandwidth/calibration parameters, and IEEE488 transmission of data, Software includes stepper motor control, broad analytical features, and supports user recalibration of equipment. Tabular data is presented and manipulated using Microsoft Excel compatible spreadsheets from within the program.
The high resolution spectro-radiometer is available in two optical head configurations:
1) A 200 mm. maximum optical aperture, having no central obscuration, with motorized focusing from 1.2 meters to infinity, with computer-selectable 3.0 mrad. or 2° diameter fields of view.
2) A 35 mm maximum, manually focused, optical aperture, with manually-selectable 1° or 10° diameter fields of view.
In either configuration, a spectrum from 1.4 m m to 14.2 mm can be scanned with a spectral resolution < 0.1 m m at up to 30 spectra per second, or an individual spectral region, or can be viewed continuously to achieve very high radiometric sensitivity.
These radiometers are also provided with infield CCD optical sights, presented on the computer screen to aid in focusing and boresighting. A field transportable control console containing a computer for control and signal processing is permanently incorporated into a transport case, which can be directly set up in the field.
A LOWTRAN atmospheric transmittance computer program was incorporated to correct for atmospheric transmittance over the path length to the target being viewed. The software generates equivalent blackbody spectral traces, and provides a wide range of data manipulation capabilities.
